Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear most often, answered. Can't find what you need? Call us at (248) 817-6110.

Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?

Michigan is a direct-access state — most insurance plans let us evaluate and treat without a doctor's referral for the first 21 days or 10 visits. If your plan requires a script, we'll let you know and help you get one.

Which insurances do you accept?

We accept most major commercial insurances, Medicare, and many BCBSM plans. Call the front desk at (248) 817-6110 with your insurance card handy and we'll verify your benefits in a few minutes.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Your insurance card, a photo ID, your referral if you have one, any imaging reports (X-ray, MRI, etc.), and comfortable clothing you can move in. Plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete intake paperwork.

How long are sessions?

Initial evaluations are typically 60 minutes; follow-up sessions are 45–60 minutes depending on your plan of care.

Will I see the same therapist every visit?

Yes. One licensed therapist owns your case from your evaluation through discharge — no rotating providers, no being handed off to a tech.

Do you treat children?

Yes — our pediatric team handles PT, OT, and speech for kids of all ages, including sensory integration, motor coordination, post-surgical, and developmental needs.

What is Body Mechanics Pilates Studio?

It's our in-house Pilates studio at the Troy location — group classes, privates, semi-privates, and full PMA-aligned instructor training. Open to the public, not just rehab patients.

How do I pay my bill?

Call (248) 817-6110 or reply to your statement and we'll send a secure payment link.
